Scaling Collaborative Storytelling for CIL Weavers Social

Cecure Intelligence Limited (CIL) partnered with Weavers Social to modernise their collaborative narrative platform. By implementing a sophisticated Generative AI stack on Amazon Bedrock, CIL transformed a manual curation process into an automated, scalable engine that generates daily story prompts and compiles community-written branching narratives into coherent "AI Editions".

Weavers faced significant operational bottlenecks with their platform implementation prior to launch. These risked the operational stability post-launch. Manual creation of "Daily Looms" (story prompts) across seven distinct creative tones was unsustainable without a larger workforce, with the risk of content fatigue. Furthermore, human curators could not manually process thousands of branching community contributions to create linear story compilations, risking a 40-hour editorial lag that could cause a drop in user engagement for story editions. The platform also required robust, real-time guardrails to prevent toxic content and PII leakage from anonymous contributors.

CIL designed a Multimodal AI Orchestration Layer using the AWS Generative AI stack to address these pre-launch risks. The approach involved:

Foundation Model Selection: We selected Anthropic Claude 3 (Sonnet & Haiku) via Amazon Bedrock. Claude 3 was chosen specifically for its 200K token context window, critical for maintaining narrative coherence across massive story trees, and its superior performance in creative writing compared to alternatives.

Knowledge Base & RAG Implementation: CIL architected a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflow. We utilised Amazon Bedrock Titan Embeddings to vectorise over 200 successful historical looms stored in Amazon S3. This allows the system to retrieve semantically relevant context to generate new, high-engagement prompts that align with seasonal themes and community preferences.

Automated Content Safety Pipeline: To protect the community, we integrated an asynchronous safety check using Amazon SQS and AWS Lambda. Every contribution is scanned for toxicity and PII using Bedrock’s Constitutional AI constraints and Amazon Comprehend, targeting a reduction in moderation latency from hours to seconds.

AI Edition Curation: CIL developed a Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting strategy enabling Claude 3 to act as a "Master Editor". The AI identifies the "narrative spine" of a branching tree, synthesises divergent plots into a unified arc, and automatically generates 3-5 chapter "AI Editions" with proper user attribution.

CIL implemented Amazon Guardrails for Bedrock to filter sensitive information and harmful content. To ensure data privacy, the architecture utilises VPC Endpoints for Bedrock, ensuring AI traffic never traverses the public internet, and follows Least Privilege IAM policies to restrict AI access to specific S3 prefixes and DynamoDB tables.

The strategic implementation of Generative AI is projected to deliver a total quantified financial impact of $578,000 per year:

Content Production Velocity: Projections indicate daily loom generation can increase from 5 per week to 49 per week, an 880% improvement. This is expected to reduce curator overhead by 90%, potentially saving $180,000 in labour costs annually.

User Engagement Lift: The coherence provided by Claude 3’s large context window is designed to increase the AI Edition completion rate from 38% to 78%. This is estimated to drive an 18% increase in session duration and an 81% lift in subscription conversions.

Operational Efficiency: Infrastructure costs were optimised by 65% by transitioning Amazon DynamoDB from on-demand to provisioned billing for stable traffic patterns and implementing a DAX caching layer for high-frequency reads.
